Winter is definitely here and the potential for freezing conditions means the chance of frozen and burst pipes.
Lagging pipework and attic spaces protects against freezing temperatures which can lead to bursts. If you have outdoor pipework with no lagging at all, it makes sense to consider getting it lagged to lessen the chance of freezing. Pipe lagging does not stop freezing 100%, and in many cases I have removed lagging to access a burst pipe beneath however, it reduces the chance of bursts substantially and lengths of pipe lagging cost very little to purchase and in many cases can be fitted by the householder.
